June 4, 2013 – WEBZEN Inc., a global leader in next-generation free-to-play games, announces that Gala-Net, Inc. and its subsidiary, Gala Networks Europe Ltd., a leading publisher of free-to-play online games and operator of the gPotato portals, will now operate under the corporate names of WEBZEN West, Inc. and WEBZEN Dublin Ltd.
WEBZEN completed the legal steps necessary for the corporate name changes to WEBZEN West and WEBZEN Dublin on May 9, 2013.
WEBZEN acquired both companies in February 2013. Following this acquisition, WEBZEN West and WEBZEN Dublin have changed their corporate identities to incorporate the logotype for WEBZEN Inc.
Both companies will implement a new business strategy of focusing on the global publishing business in North/South America and Europe under the WEBZEN brand.
WEBZEN West and WEBZEN Dublin have operated gPotato portals, hosting diverse free-to-play MMORPGs such as Flyff, Rappelz and Allods Online to more than 23 million registered users in North America and Europe. Additionally, the upcoming Martial Arts-MMORPG, Age of Wulin will launch in Europe in 2013.
