‘C9’ Marks the Start of the ‘2012 C9 Championship Tournament’

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, announced the start of the ‘Tournament Registration Test’ for their Action RPG ‘C9 (Continent of the Ninth Seal). During the test, participants will be able to register for the ‘online PvP tournament’ prior to the ‘2012 C9 Championship Tournament’.
Starting from April 14th until May 4th, the ‘Tournament Registration Test’ will be open to users with a C9 beta key that will be given out through various partner game media websites beginning from the 12th.
During the test period, participants who wish to register for the ‘online PvP tournament’ must first accomplish an in-game mission. The registration for the ‘online PvP tournament’ will open on April 25th at C9’s official website where more detailed information will be announced. Later on, after the ‘online PvP tournament’, the top final qualifying teams will be invited to the offline ‘2012 C9 Championship Tournament’ held during E3 2012 in Los Angeles, where the top team will win a grand prize of $10,000 (USD).
The ‘Tournament Registration Test’ will reveal new contents including the ‘Ultimate Fury Skills’, currently the most powerful and dynamic skills, and also new PvP systems, ‘Deathmatch’ and ‘Relay Match’.
Jihun Lee, Head of Global Publishing, said, “For the 2012 C9 Championship Tournament, we have opened the test to start the online events that will continue to the offline finals during E3 2012.” Also he said, “We will focus on the localization for global users to launch the official service this summer.”
Meanwhile, WEBZEN has started the ‘Media Focus Test’ today where game media will be able to gain early access to experience the new contents. The ‘Media Focus Test’ will continue until May 5th.

2012 ‘C9’ PvP Championship Tournament Announced with Beta Test

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, announced their first PvP Championship Tournament for the Action RPG ‘C9’ (Continent of the Ninth Seal) to be held prior to the official global launch.
Last February, the first global VIP test for C9 had finished, and to take the next step, WEBZEN is preparing to receive registrations for the ‘2012 C9 Championship Tournament’ held this coming May. Users who wish to compete must enter through the registration page and accomplish a mission to participate. Those who join the tournament will receive various and unique benefits in future tests.
In preparation for the tournament, C9 will open the beta test that starts in April. At first, WEBZEN will prepare a media focused beta test exclusively for media that starts on April 12th. Afterwards, from the 15th, users will be able to join the beta test that continues until May 6th to complete the missions for the tournament participation in May. Also, more contents for both PvE and PvP that were not revealed in the first VIP test will be revealed during this beta test.

Meanwhile, WEBZEN participated in GDC 2012 held at San Francisco from March 7th to the 9th with C9 and ARCTIC COMBAT which received positive responses from visitors and various game media.

WEBZEN ‘C9’ Marks the Grand Finale of its VIP Test

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, has successfully finished their first VIP Test for ‘C9’ (Continent of the Ninth Seal) and takes one step closer to its official launch.
On February 28th, WEBZEN closed the test server for the VIP Test that started last February 4th. To end the VIP Test, an event took place where the VIP testers and GMs gathered around to say goodbye. With satisfactory results and various feedbacks from the VIP testers, WEBZEN has a better view of localization and what the users want.
With a limited 10,000 VIP Testers and about 10 times more of whom were eager to join the VIP Test visited C9’s official website and Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/C9Webzen) to express their excitement and anticipation.
For this VIP Test of C9, 3 of the 9 continents were introduced along with 3 playable characters the Fighter, Hunter, and Shaman with their advancement classes. Another main feature, the PVP system, was introduced later in the VIP Test with its ‘Arena’ and unique ‘Intrusion’ system, allowing users to test their precise control against other users.
Testers expressed their thoughts about C9 through their feedback, where many testers mentioned they could actually feel the action and perform infinite skill combos which are some of C9’s key features. Also, other comments and suggestions were about the localization of C9.
Jihun Lee, Head of Global Publishing, said, “With the results and valuable feedbacks from the VIP Test, we will be able to improve the localization of C9.” Also he said, “We will focus on localization and development to bring the service of C9 global as soon as this summer with a possibility of additional tests in between.”
Meanwhile, WEBZEN will attend the 2012 Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, USA, starting from March 7th to the 9th giving visitors a chance to play ‘C9’ and their new FPS title ‘ARCTIC COMBAT’.

‘WEBZEN.com 2.0’, the Next Generation of User-Oriented Service

WEBZEN Inc., (www.webzen.com), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, has recently renovated their global portal website according to their slogan where they will become a user focused portal by providing new and improved customer service.
Last January 26, 2012, WEBZEN.com started the service of their renovated portal site that underwent many changes. These changes include a more comprehensive language option and streamline connected function allowing users to login to WEBZEN.com using their Facebook account.
Also, the new user-oriented interface design makes the website much more innovated and efficient than the previous version allowing users to easily access its contents. WEBZEN.com plans to add more convenient features and various contents that will be optimized for their games and forums allowing users to interact with each other more efficiently.
Currently, WEBZEN.com is servicing MU Online, Soul of the Ultimate Nation, and Archlord, while its anticipated title, which has been awarded the grand prize at the 2009 Korea Game Awards, C9 (Continent of the Ninth Seal), is preparing for their first global user test that starts on February 4th. Additionally, WEBZEN’s new FPS title, Arctic Combat, is planning their first user test in the first half of this year.

Also he said, “Through this large renovation for both previous and new features, a more complete and stable global publishing system has been established. Meanwhile, Archlord, one of the publishing titles by WEBZEN.com, is planning to release a new content patch in February which will include new epic set armors that will become the strongest existing items. These items will exclusively appear in the enhanced version of the Elemental World which was popular in episode 2. Another major update that includes new dungeons is planned for release this summer. Additionally the 2nd CBT for Archlord X is planned to kick off this March.
