Elite Lord of Alliance’s Expansion Part 2 “The Smash” is Now Available

Seoul, Korea - January 13th, 2016 - WEBZEN, a global developer and publisher of free-to-play games, announced that its triple-action hack 'n' slash MMORPG ELOA: Elite Lord of Alliance released part 2 of its first expansion, “The Smash”.
ELOA: Elite Lord of Alliance is an anime-inspired triple-action hack 'n' slash MMORPG, with classic action RPG elements and unique dynamic 3-combat-stance gameplay. “The Smash” introduces new features and items along with two new dungeons: The Spirit Flame Workroom and the Shadow of Hallucination.
The Spirit Flame Workroom is a new dungeon where various kinds of fire monsters and bosses use flame attacks to burn their targets. Users playing in Hero difficulty, the highest of the 3 difficulty levels (Beginner, Normal, Hero), will experience even more flame traps along with bosses spawning more monsters, allowing players to acquire extra items. These items include: Pain Savior's Set/Overpowering Savior's Set, pauldrons, gauntlets (Normal), Lv. 40 unique gauntlets and pants (Hero).
In the Shadow of Hallucination, many challenges await including explosive traps, turrets and melee-attacking boss monsters that use a poisoning skill. Playing in Hero difficulty will add more enhanced poison traps, and allow the boss monster to spawn “Atrocious Veren Gatekeeper Kou” during battle. Defeating enemies in the dungeon will reward adventurers with special items, including: Pain Savior's Set/Overpowering Savior's Set, pants, boots (Normal), Lv. 40 unique pauldrons and armor (Hero).
Along with the new dungeon update, the ELOA team is organising a dungeon clear event from January 12th until the weekly maintenance on January 19th, 2016 (UTC). The first three players of each server who submit their dungeon clear screenshots of both the Spirit Flame Workroom and the Shadow of Hallucination (in the event thread on the official ELOA forum), will get the Honorable Phillos Uniform Collection: A costume that changes their characters’ appearance. Additionally, the best screenshot from each sever will be selected by ELOA’s GM (Game Master).

MU: Origin Enters Closed Beta Testing on Google Play in the West on January 25th

Seoul, Korea - 12th January, 2016 - WEBZEN, a global developer and publisher of free-to-play games, announced today that the first Closed Beta for its mobile MMORPG MU: Origin will start on Google Play on the Android mobile platform on the 25th of January.
MU: Origin is an upcoming mobile MMORPG, successfully transferred Full 3D PC MMORPG MU ONLINE's enormous amount of contents and applied the latest mobile game trends: the game system and user interface which are optimized to mobile devices, and the splendid graphics. MU: Origin allows players to experience a full 3D PC quality real-time MMORPG on their mobile device.
MU: Origin is a mobile game developed through WEBZEN’s IP franchising business - WEBZEN grants the franchisee the right to use a developed concept, including graphics, trademarks, character and even publishing technologies to create a new game. Along with MU: Origin’s IP franchising alliance, a Chinese partner company launched the game in Chinese market, and WEBZEN lead to its game service in Korea as well as giving them its guidance and support for the entire game development phase.
While mobile game markets have grown rapidly, this business model started from the idea that it would be able to lead even more global gamers to a mobile game by taking advantage of high brand awareness of PC online game MU ONLINE. In fact, the strong performance of IP Franchising was primarily due to mobile game MU: Origin based on the well-known PC online game MU ONLINE.
Since MU: Origin officially launched in Korea, April 2015, the game was ranked on the top 1 game of Korean top-grossing charts in both Google Play and App Store. Furthermore, MU: Origin was ranked on the top 1 game of App Store's top-grossing charts in China, and the game was ranked in the top 5 games of Google Play’s worldwide top-grossing charts in May 2015.
MU: Origin still has a significant number of registered players, with more than 120 million accounts in China, and 20 million downloads on Google Play Store only in Korea. Amongst many mobile games in the markets, the game has been in the top-tier position in both two countries.
Additionally, WEBZEN has already secured an influential channel ‘WEBZEN.com’ to bring its games to the global market with 60 million players from all over the world. To promote the game in the West, the WEBZEN team is planning to organize cross-promotions with other PC games on it’s the global game portal ‘WEBZEN.com’.
From 12th January through to 31st January, 2016 (PST), any Android phone or tablet user who can access to Google Play and a compatible device in Europe, North and South America can sign-up for early access to try the game during Closed Beta phase on the official MU: Origin website at: http://muorigin.webzen.com/
Just a few thousand players will be selected to take part in the first round of closed beta testing, and participants who receive an invitation letter by e-mail will be able to download the game fully localized into English for free. The Closed Beta will be running from 25th January until 31st January, 2016 (PST).
Full release of the game is currently scheduled for spring 2016, as well as expansion into other platforms including iOS.

Flyff Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Skip Level Event

Seoul, Korea - December 23rd, 2015 - WEBZEN, a global developer and publisher of free-to-play games, has announced that manga-style MMORPG Flyff has launched its 10th anniversary game events, marking a decade of English service in North America.
Flyff has more than 30 million registered users worldwide. Given this impressive number, Flyff and its game community are among the most popular of their kind in the West.
Flyff US started its open beta on December 25th 10 years ago, and to mark this occasion, the game will be holding an anniversary bash with in-game events lasting until January 5th, 2016 (UTC).
To celebrate the 10th anniversary, the Flyff team has launched a skip level event that allows players to receive a free level boost for their characters. Players will be able to boost their characters directly to level 60 as well as getting them fully geared with weapons and armor, lasting until January 5th, 2016 (UTC). Both new players and those who have not played the game in a while should not miss this chance to catch up quickly.
In addition, players can get a 3x EXP increase during gameplay from December 25th through to December 28th. And just for the 10th anniversary on December 25th, players will receive 10x EXP for 10 minutes every hour. The 10-minute timeframe will be randomly chosen and cannot be predicted by players.

Elite Lord of Alliance’s First Expansion - Part 1 is Now Live

Seoul, Korea - December 22nd, 2015 - WEBZEN, a global developer and publisher of free-to-play games, today announced that its triple-action hack 'n' slash MMORPG ELOA: Elite Lord of Alliance released its first expansion - Part 1.
ELOA: Elite Lord of Alliance is an anime-inspired triple-action hack 'n' slash MMORPG, with classic action RPG elements and unique dynamic 3-combat-stance gameplay. Starting today, the first ELOA expansion introduces an increased level cap, new areas and challenges along with the arrival of an exciting new dungeon, the Spider Cave.
The first expansion patch adds a new map called the Crying Land consisting of eight fields shining red with the glow of lava, and introduces a new field boss named Fire Heart Fashim. Vanquishing enemies in the Crying Land will reward adventurers with rare items.
The level cap has increased from 35 to 40. With the rise in level cap, players can find new zones, quests, items and more to best fit their new power. Level 40 players can delve deeper into the lore of Epheia with the addition of Guntara's Hideout [Lv.40] and the Spider Cave. In comparison to other dungeons, players will fight with new enemies and defeat the most challenging monsters, such as Guntara and Spider Queen Ishiba, together with other players in teams for additional rewards.
Players adventuring in Guntara’s Hideout [Lv. 40] and the Spider Cave in normal mode will be able to get more gold and drop items from the Golden Boss who will be randomly appearing from today through to January 5th, 2016 (UTC).

WEBZEN Spreads Christmas Cheer with Festive Events and Update
