Arctic Combat Joins the e-Sports World with ESL Europe

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, announced their first ESL Europe online tournament during the upcoming closed beta for the modern military FPS game ‘ARCTIC COMBAT’.
This August 16th (GMT), the registration for the Arctic Combat ESL (Electronic Sports League) Europe tournament will start allowing players around Europe to participate in this event. This will be the first step to build a competitive community in the e-sports world. Players will be able to apply for the tournament through the official Arctic Combat website (ac.webzen.com).
The preliminaries for the event are scheduled to start on August 26th (GMT), which will determine the top two teams that will meet at the finals. The finals will take place on the September 15th (GMT) to decide who the first champions of Europe will be. Viewers around the world will be able to enjoy this event through livestream hosted by the famous e-sports caster Joe Miller.
For the upcoming closed beta starting from August 22nd (GMT), the North America server will open along with the newly located server in Europe allowing players in this region to play under smooth conditions. New contents that are added will be revealed through the upcoming game trailer.

WEBZEN to Participate Gamescom 2012 with Arctic Combat and C9

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, will be participating in Gamescom 2012 in Germany with an exclusive B2B booth revealing new information for their game titles along with various B2C events.
From this August 15th, Webzen will be holding a B2B booth during Gamescom 2012 in Germany. ‘WEBZEN.com’ will be promoting the upcoming Modern military FPS game, Arctic Combat, and Action RPG C9 (Continent of the Ninth Seal).
The highly anticipated Arctic Combat is a Free to Play Online Tactical Shooter with realistic warzone effects and strategic gameplay involving tactical perks, weapons, and equipment. Here, Arctic Combat will reveal its new trailer showing new contents for the upcoming closed beta. Future service plans and schedules, including e-sports tournaments, will also be announced.
For the recently launched C9, the fourth continent will be revealed, where new contents will be added including a level cap raise. These upcoming updates are planned to be continued, providing players with more contents to enjoy. More details on these contents and update schedules are expected to be shown during the B2B section.
Meanwhile, separate from the B2B booth, WEBZEN’s B2C events on the 18th, will allow visitors to experience C9 and win various prizes. As a main event, the ‘C9 Europe Championship’ tournament, held as an official e-sports title for GNGWC, will decide the winners that take home $10,000. The top team will be invited to compete at ‘C9 World Championship’ held during November at G-Star 2012 in South Korea.

Second ‘C9’ class update releases the renewed ‘Berserker’

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, announced the second class update after official launch of the action RPG ‘C9’ (Continent of the Ninth Seal).
On August 1st, the renewed class, ‘Berserker’ will be released in C9’s second official update. The ‘Berserker’ is the 4th fighter advancement class that uses a two-handed broadsword allowing them to deal comparatively a bit slower attack but massive damage compared to other classes. The renewal includes 3 new deadly skills with improved visual effects, where the most significant feature is ‘Berserker mode’ that activates increased attack speed and life-stealing from enemies upon successful hits.
Along with the update, C9 event will be running concurrently which will give attractive prizes to players who reach level 50 with the renewed Berserker class. Also, limited edition gear for ‘Berserker’ can only be purchased during this promotion period. There will also be many other upcoming events subsequently.
Meanwhile, the top 4 teams have been determined to compete in the semi-finals for the C9 Europe Championship which will be held at “Gamescom 2012” Germany on August 18th. The winning team of the Europe tournament will win $10,000 in cash, and qualify for ‘C9 World Championship’ later held in November. There the winning teams that represent Europe, the Americas, and Asia will all compete to become the World Champion.

[WEBZEN] Archlord Kicks Off Its Future Plans

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, announced the update schedule of the MMORPG ‘Archlord’ for the second half of 2012, which will start on July 18th (GST) with the renewed ‘Battle Ground’ and major enhancements for the abilities of the Archlord.
The ‘Battle Ground’, where battles between the races take place, will be renewed. First, the location of the ‘Center of Chaos’ will be randomized from that of the previous middle location for more dynamic battles. Also, the most powerful item, ‘Absolute Armor Set’ will be added where players can further upgrade them with combination materials acquired from the ‘Battle Ground’.
For the update of the absolute ruler of Chantra, Archlord, its abilities will be increased significantly to emphasize the honor of its existence. To add to this honor, the Archlord will also receive new unique items and skills that no other can match to.
Future contents will be continuously added, where in August, large scaled battle contents, items, and redesigned user-oriented UI will be updated. This will be followed by various instant dungeons updated later this year.

WEBZEN Partners with Overwolf to Launch the WEBZEN Hub

SEOUL, Korea – July 12th, 2012 – WEBZEN, the leading free-to-play online game publisher from Korea, today announced the launch of the “WEBZEN Hub” in collaboration with Overwolf, a software company specializing in adding a rich layer of social functionality to games. The WEBZEN Hub (powered by Overwolf) includes a wide set of gaming features accessible to users while playing their favorite games.
