50,000 Character Pre-Creations Ready for 'C9’ Early Access

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, begins early access for C9 (Continent of the Ninth Seal) allowing players to experience the game prior to OBT.
From June 27th, C9 servers will be opened to players who participated in character pre-creation event for early access. This event allowed registered players to create their character, choose the server, classes, and character name prior to OBT. Players will be able to experience C9 three days earlier than the official launch that starts on July 1st. About 50,000 characters have been created as the result of this event.
With the start of OBT, the new class ‘Witchblade’ will be available for selection. ‘Witchblade’ is one of the most anticipated classes in C9 that specializes in powerful melee combat and magic skills. For the 2nd advancement at level 20, this class can be advanced into the ‘Warden’ that specializes in ranged frozen magic, or the ‘Slayer’ which specializes in splendid aerial combos.
Additionally, a wide range of new and localized contents have been included based on feedback from previous tests. Among the new contents, an in-game social network service integrated function, where players will be able to upload comments and screenshots on Facebook or Twitter, has been added.

Meanwhile, C9 has been chosen as an official event for ‘Game and Game World Championship (GNGWC) 2012’ which is a global tournament event annually hosted by KOCCA (Korea Creative Contents Agency). This tournament will commence with the qualifying round for Europe and North America regions which will begin with Europe’s qualifying round in August, 2012 at ‘Gamescom’, Germany. Championship Finals will be held in November, 2012 at ‘G-Star2012’, South Korea.

‘C9’Character Pre-creation and Early Access Before the Open Beta Test

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, opened the official teaser site of ‘C9’ (Continent of the Ninth Seal) on June 7th to accept character pre-creation registrations prior to the open beta test.
On June 7th, the teaser site for ‘C9’ had opened, continuously receiving registrations for character pre-creation. Players who sign up before June 21st will receive a beta key and will be able to pre-create their character, name, server, and class that will remain throughout the commercial service.
Along with these benefits, players who register before the 21st will be able to participate in the early access automatically, earning the chance to play before the open beta begins. Players who miss the pre-creation registration can still register for early access from the 21st. Users who don’t have a WEBZEN.com account can receive the beta key by simply making a new account.
Also, WEBZEN will reveal the new class ‘Witchblade’ for the first time. The ‘Witchblade’ specializes in both magic and melee combat with acrobatic movements. This class has been one of the most demanded classes in C9. The 2 advanced classes of ‘Witchblade’, ‘Warden’ and ‘Slayer’, will be available with the start of the early access.

[WEBZEN] The Battlegrounds of ‘Arctic Combat’ are Calling to Arms

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, announced the start of the first closed beta test, ‘Task Force 613’, for the modern military FPS game ‘ARCTIC COMBAT’.
From June 13th (Pacific Daylight Time), the first beta test,’ Task Force 613’, will start and the new synopsis trailer will be revealed on the official ‘ARCTIC COMBAT’ website (ac.webzen.com). Participants who have been selected in the beta pre-signup, that ended last June 6th, will be able to enjoy the game until June 24th (PDT).
During the first beta test, the selected players will be able to experience the realistic warzone effects and battles based on team/clan strategic gameplay involving tactical perks, weapons, and equipment. The game engine is optimized for the full spectrum of PCs, without compromising graphical quality allowing a wide range of players to enjoy the game. In this first beta test, 4 playable maps and 5 game modes will be available.
The new synopsis trailer that is revealed illustrates the starting point of World War III. While the depletion of natural resources affects the economy worldwide nations focus on the resources beneath the Arctic Ocean. The dispute over these resources leads to the movement of US and Russian forces towards the Arctic region. As the second of the synopsis series, WEBZEN plans to reveal more in the future.

WEBZEN Announces C9 Tournament Winners, Awards $10,000 Grand Prize

SEOUL, South Korea and LOS ANGELES – June 8, 2012 – Celebrating a successful return to E3, WEBZEN Inc., a global publisher of online games, can now announce the winners of its Continent of the Ninth Seal (C9) tournament. At an event held on Wednesday, June 6, two teams – North American “Gears Executor” and European “Pony Club” – went head to head for C9 supremacy and a $10,000 grand prize. After a skilled and heated battle, “Gears Executor” bested “Pony Club” to claim the championship title, cash reward and international bragging rights.
“Competing in and winning the first global C9 championship tournament at one of the world’s biggest interactive entertainment shows is a dream come true,” said Dahan Choi, team leader of “Gears Executor.” “We appreciate WEBZEN inviting us to be part of this awesome event at E3, and I speak for my whole team when I say that we’re looking forward to defending our title at future C9 tournaments.”

Enlistment for the First Beta Test of 'ARCTIC COMBAT’ has Begun

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, announced the first user beta test sign-up for the for the modern military FPS game ‘ARCTIC COMBAT’.
Today, WEBZEN opened the beta sign-up page for ‘ARCTIC COMBAT’ accepting applications for the first user beta test, ‘Task Force 613’. The sign-up will continue until the 6th of June and will only accept a limited amount of users through the official website (ac.webzen.com).
