Second ‘C9’ class update releases the renewed ‘Berserker’

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, announced the second class update after official launch of the action RPG ‘C9’ (Continent of the Ninth Seal).
On August 1st, the renewed class, ‘Berserker’ will be released in C9’s second official update. The ‘Berserker’ is the 4th fighter advancement class that uses a two-handed broadsword allowing them to deal comparatively a bit slower attack but massive damage compared to other classes. The renewal includes 3 new deadly skills with improved visual effects, where the most significant feature is ‘Berserker mode’ that activates increased attack speed and life-stealing from enemies upon successful hits.
Along with the update, C9 event will be running concurrently which will give attractive prizes to players who reach level 50 with the renewed Berserker class. Also, limited edition gear for ‘Berserker’ can only be purchased during this promotion period. There will also be many other upcoming events subsequently.
Meanwhile, the top 4 teams have been determined to compete in the semi-finals for the C9 Europe Championship which will be held at “Gamescom 2012” Germany on August 18th. The winning team of the Europe tournament will win $10,000 in cash, and qualify for ‘C9 World Championship’ later held in November. There the winning teams that represent Europe, the Americas, and Asia will all compete to become the World Champion.

[WEBZEN] Archlord Kicks Off Its Future Plans

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, announced the update schedule of the MMORPG ‘Archlord’ for the second half of 2012, which will start on July 18th (GST) with the renewed ‘Battle Ground’ and major enhancements for the abilities of the Archlord.
The ‘Battle Ground’, where battles between the races take place, will be renewed. First, the location of the ‘Center of Chaos’ will be randomized from that of the previous middle location for more dynamic battles. Also, the most powerful item, ‘Absolute Armor Set’ will be added where players can further upgrade them with combination materials acquired from the ‘Battle Ground’.
For the update of the absolute ruler of Chantra, Archlord, its abilities will be increased significantly to emphasize the honor of its existence. To add to this honor, the Archlord will also receive new unique items and skills that no other can match to.
Future contents will be continuously added, where in August, large scaled battle contents, items, and redesigned user-oriented UI will be updated. This will be followed by various instant dungeons updated later this year.

Future updates will include the highly anticipated new character ‘MIO’, an instance dungeon for PvP, and new in-game regions.

WEBZEN Partners with Overwolf to Launch the WEBZEN Hub

SEOUL, Korea – July 12th, 2012 – WEBZEN, the leading free-to-play online game publisher from Korea, today announced the launch of the “WEBZEN Hub” in collaboration with Overwolf, a software company specializing in adding a rich layer of social functionality to games. The WEBZEN Hub (powered by Overwolf) includes a wide set of gaming features accessible to users while playing their favorite games. While WEBZEN players may use Overwolf’s video and screenshot capturing and sharing the most, the client also includes various instant-messaging services, in-game access to TeamSpeak, a music player, an in-game browser and will soon add an in-game app store.

[WEBZEN] C9 Official Launch Starts Today

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, will launch C9 (Continent of the Ninth Seal) official service today, following the successful OBT that started on June 30th (GST).
On July 11th, C9 will continue from the OBT to official service with new contents including ‘Hell Mode’, a new dungeon difficulty where players can earn advanced rare items. Also, the item shop will open, offering new character costumes and various funny items that can be used to customize character appearances.
With continuous updates, the fourth advancement hunter class, “Shadow” with the fastest overall speed, will be updated on July 17th. Later on, the revised version of one of the highly anticipated class, “Berserker” is planned to be released on July 31st.
Also, the excitement of the C9 PvP tournament during E3 will be carried onto Gamescom 2012 in Germany. Here the Europe region finalist will be determined on August 18th. Later in November, the finalists from around the world including the Americas, Europe, and Asia will meet at the “2012 C9 World Championship Tournament” held during G-Star 2012.

50,000 Character Pre-Creations Ready for 'C9’ Early Access

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, begins early access for C9 (Continent of the Ninth Seal) allowing players to experience the game prior to OBT.
From June 27th, C9 servers will be opened to players who participated in character pre-creation event for early access. This event allowed registered players to create their character, choose the server, classes, and character name prior to OBT. Players will be able to experience C9 three days earlier than the official launch that starts on July 1st. About 50,000 characters have been created as the result of this event.
With the start of OBT, the new class ‘Witchblade’ will be available for selection. ‘Witchblade’ is one of the most anticipated classes in C9 that specializes in powerful melee combat and magic skills. For the 2nd advancement at level 20, this class can be advanced into the ‘Warden’ that specializes in ranged frozen magic, or the ‘Slayer’ which specializes in splendid aerial combos.
Additionally, a wide range of new and localized contents have been included based on feedback from previous tests. Among the new contents, an in-game social network service integrated function, where players will be able to upload comments and screenshots on Facebook or Twitter, has been added.

Meanwhile, C9 has been chosen as an official event for ‘Game and Game World Championship (GNGWC) 2012’ which is a global tournament event annually hosted by KOCCA (Korea Creative Contents Agency). This tournament will commence with the qualifying round for Europe and North America regions which will begin with Europe’s qualifying round in August, 2012 at ‘Gamescom’, Germany. Championship Finals will be held in November, 2012 at ‘G-Star2012’, South Korea.
