Beta Testing for New MU Adaptation Begins August 8

July 25, 2013 - San Jose, CA - WEBZEN, a global leader in next-generation free-to-play games, announces the official Second Beta Celebration for MU REBIRTH: The Official PvP Server, a new adaption of the classic fantasy RPG, MU ONLINE. Second beta for this heart-stopping MMORPG begins August 8, 2013 at 2:00 am and ends August 21, 2013 at 8:00 am (Global Server Time ? Open beta for MU REBIRTH has been postponed to provide gamers a second chance to experience WEBZEN's new action-packed RPG during the testing period. The Second Beta Celebration will be available to all players and does not require a beta key code for activation. All user activity during second beta (including character creation, leveling and item purchases) will be saved after the beta period has concluded. In addition, WEBZEN will host special giveaways to kick off the return of MU REBIRTH:
W Coin Giveaway - Players will be rewarded with W Coins (C) just for being a part of MU REBIRTH's second beta! All participants who log into the game will automatically receive 100 W Coins. For every 10 Rebirths , each player will receive an additional 100 W Coins (Players will be rewarded for up to 50 Rebirths, which can be redeemed for 500 W Coins). Free Cash Points Giveaway - WEBZEN will be teaming up with various MMO sites to offer players free in-game cash. WEBZEN Releases New Advanced Class for C9 –DEMONISHER

July 18, 2013 (San Jose, Calif.) – WEBZEN, a global leader in next-generation free-to-play games, releases a brand new class for the adrenaline-pumping 3D Action MMORPG, CONTINENT OF THE NINTH SEAL (C9). Starting Wednesday, July 24, 2013 (Global Server Time), C9 actionists will be able access DEMONISHER, the newest advanced class for the Shaman. In addition, WEBZEN will host a gamer gear giveaway and special events to celebrate the game’s first anniversary.
DEMONISHER
Featuring long-range magical attacks and incredible surges of strength, DEMONISHER is the fifth advancement within the Shaman class. Utilizing a mystical orb as her primary weapon, this character can launch powerful offensive strikes, while evading attacks from her enemies. By tapping into the power of the orb, she can transform into another being and inflict explosive damage on all those who oppose her. After transformation, the character’s speed increases and some of her skills are strengthened. DEMONISHER can also assist her allies in battle by enfeebling her enemies.
THE STORY
The Ikejan Mages, an ancient order that has protected Glenheim, sought a way to maximize the connection with the spirits to defend the Sixth Continent, Raebin, from invading monsters. To achieve this, they developed a new magical tool to communicate with the spirits called an Orb. Instead of connecting with the spirits, the Orb reacted unexpectedly to spiritual energy and created a new source of power, unlike any other. Some of the Shamans craved new power and became obsessed with the Orb’s ability to tap into the power of souls rather than spirits. However, the other Shamans objected to the use of such depraved magic and war broke out between the two factions. To end this conflict, sanctions were placed on use of the Orb by the Shamans, but those who still wanted to use it gathered under the protection of Paulo, an elder Ikejan Mage. Dark times fall upon the world of Glenheim once again. The Orb-wielding Shamans use this opportunity to reveal themselves and unleash their new-found magic, calling themselves DEMONISHERS.
SPECIAL EVENTS
To celebrate the release of DEMONISHER and C9’s First Anniversary, WEBZEN will host a series of special events on July 24, 2013 (GST):
• Gamers can visit one of the MMO sites that has partnered with C9 to obtain a code for a free promotional chest, filled with in-game items.
• Players can celebrate the game’s first anniversary by participating in a massive online competition between servers during an in-game drop event. During this period, gamers will battle monsters that drop free items and collect special tickets for additional rewards. Prizes include five V8MA Gaming Mouse devices from BLOODY (featuring dual optics, exclusive X’Glide Metal mouse feet and Ultra Core 3 software).
• Those who are new to the world of CONTINENT OF THE NINTH SEAL can join the game and create characters that immediately start at Level 20. New users will also receive two special support chests for playing.

WEBZEN Announces Season 8.2 Update for MU ONLINE

July 10, 2013 (San Jose, Calif.) – WEBZEN Inc., a global leader in next-generation free-to-play games, announces that the SEASON 8 PART 2 UPDATE (8.2) for the full 3D MMORPG, MU ONLINE, is now available. This long-awaited update includes the new card game MU ROOMY, new accessories, and other exciting new features that will take gameplay to the next level for fans of the classic fantasy RPG.
“We have prepared the 8.2 update to enhance the gaming experience for those who have played MU ONLINE for a long time,” said JIHUN LEE, Head of Global Publishing at WEBZEN. “Beginning with our new card game MU ROOMY, we will continue to update various contents including a new PvP system.”
New Card Game Event
Citizens of MU are invited to join the exciting new card game event, MU ROOMY. To participate, players need to collect the cards through monster-hunting and create a special set of 3 cards. Winners will be rewarded with an assortment of prizes, including excellent-grade items and in-game currency.
Upgraded Accessories
The SEASON 8.2 UPDATE also includes all-new accessories, which may contain a special defensive option for PvP play. Accessories will include both normal and excellent-grade items.
Additional Features
Players are now able to look up items available in each user’s private store by using “Search Private Store” function. The game’s User Interface (UI) has also been re-designed to optimize players’ party playing.

WEBZEN Launches Closed Beta Testing for MU REBIRTH

July 3, 2013 (San Jose, Calif.) – WEBZEN Inc., a global leader in next-generation free-to-play games, launches closed beta testing (CBT) for MU REBIRTH, a new adaption of the popular fantasy RPG, MU ONLINE. The official CBT for this adrenaline-pumping MMORPG will begin on July 3, 2013 at approximately 7:00 pm and end on July 10, 2013 at 3:00 pm (Global Server Time – Please check http://tinyurl.com/MURebirthFB for updates).
WEBZEN has teamed up with 32 media outlets to give away free beta keys for MU REBIRTH (Available now through July 10). All players who participate in closed beta will receive in-game cash (valued at $1000) to purchase items in the shop for MU REBIRTH during the CBT period only.

ARCTIC COMBAT Releases New PvP Mode – Aliens vs. Humans

July 2, 2013 (San Jose, Calif.) – WEBZEN Inc., a global leader in next-generation free-to-play games, reveals a heart-stopping new PvP mode for the modern military FPS, ARCTIC COMBAT. In April, players had to defend a nuclear reactor when aliens invaded the game for the very first time. Now the game’s latest PvP mode, Aliens Vs. Humans, allows players to turn into aliens and sends them back into the world to attack and infect other players.
Aliens vs. Humans
In ARCTIC COMBAT’s exclusive new map, White Out, players can engage in the game’s new alien PvP mode. At the beginning of each round, all players start as humans. After an allotted amount of time, players will randomly turn into an Alien Host or a Human Hero. The Alien Hosts can attack Humans, which will infect them and turn them into Aliens. The Human Heroes must defend themselves from the Alien attacks in order to prevent infection. If at least one Human survives or all of the Aliens are killed, the Humans win. If all of the Humans have turned into Aliens, the Aliens win.
The new update for ARCTIC COMBAT also features six new weapons, nine new weapon customization parts, three news skills and a new supply pack which includes a Sentry Gun. Players will also be introduced to two new female characters and the new alien PvP mode map, White Out. The update also includes an added slot for a melee weapon and expandable quick slots and skill slots.
Set amidst the chaos of World War III, ARCTIC COMBAT is a multiplayer online first-person shooter (MOFPS) featuring realistic gameplay experience and a tactical skill development system. The game revolves around the story of a national conflict between two groups; the Allied Forces (AF), led by the United States, and the Red Star Alliance (RSA), led by Russia. What begins as a dispute over natural resources in the arctic territory leads to a violent clash between the AF and RSA, dividing the world into two opposing forces and signaling the beginning of World War III.
