Arctic Combat Open Beta and Steam Launch Announced

December 4, 2012 - WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, announced the start of the open beta and launch through Steam for the online tactical FPS game, ‘ARCTIC COMBAT’.
On December 6th, World War III begins. Arctic Combat pits the U.S.-led Allied Forces against the Russian-backed Star Alliance in a dispute over natural resources that starts in the arctic territory and spills over into battlefields across the globe. With the Open Beta, WEBZEN adds 2 new maps Silo and Quarter Blow and weapons, along with the brand new game mode Annihilation.
Arctic Combat will also be available on Steam starting December 7th. To celebrate the release, WEBZEN will be offering two item packs offered exclusively through Steam: the Steam Starter Pack and the Steam Ultimate Pack, both of which include a range of weapons and items. This will be WEBZEN’s second game on the platform, following the successful launch of its action-based fantasy MMORPG Continent of the Ninth Seal in September.

Set amidst the chaos of World War III, Arctic Combat is a multiplayer online first-person shooter (MOFPS) featuring a realistic gameplay experience and a tactical skill development system. From the intricate character movements and intense gore effects to the highly customizable skills and gear, Arctic Combat has enough depth to satisfy the competitive gamer, while still being accessible to a casual player looking for some quick action. The game also features a refined A.I. system for players to sharpen their skills in bot-based battles and to earn additional rewards through various missions.

‘WEBZEN.com’, celebrates World’s Harvest Festival

In celebration of the Thanksgiving Holiday, WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, has prepared various events and updates to give thanks for the bountiful harvest and express our gratitude for the users.
On November 21st, MU online, the pioneer of 3D MMORPG, has given free Gold Channel access to all players celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday. Gold Channel refers to a subscription channel where the players can level up fast with 333% additional EXP bonus.
In return for players’ constant support, over 400 level characters have been rewarded with Thanksgiving gift pack which includes Figurine of Antelope 30 Days, Golden Oak Charm 30 Days, and much more. For this Thanksgiving, MU Online wishes players to harvest enjoyment during the event with the gifts.
Additionally, ‘Hall of Fame’, a special gallery of the top 100 players in each category of PVP, EXP, and Guild, is newly introduced on the official website (http://muonline.webzen.com/). To commemorate the first ‘Hall of Fame’ heroes, the top 100 players in EXP ranking will be rewarded with Gold Channel tickets and in-game items.
Meanwhile, S.U.N. (Soul of the Ultimate Nation) has started Thanksgiving event a week earlier with the new content update including ‘Astorea Canyon’ and ‘Unrestricted Fighting Room’. Furthermore, S.U.N. is celebrating Thanksgiving by boosting the servers with additional experience bonus which increase 10% every day until it reaches 150%.

Who will be the C9 and AC World Champions at G-Star?

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, will be hosting ‘Continent of the Ninth Seal’ (C9) and ‘Arctic Combat’ (AC) World Championship finals at Korea’s biggest game show, G-Star 2012.
Since July 2012, WEBZEN has been running online and offline C9 and AC tournaments in the Americas and Europe region to select the teams that will represent each region to participate in the World Championship Finals held at G-Star from November 8th through November 9th (GST). All region finalists will gather at Busan, Korea to compete to be named as the World Champion.
The Championship finals will begin with the Military FPS, Arctic Combat, where the finalist teams ‘eaazy’ and ‘For Bianca’ will be competing against each other. The winning team of the finals will win cash prize of $3,000. The match will be 5 verses 5, held under ‘Search and Destroy’ match mode for 8 rounds each in three different maps.
Also, for the C9 World Championship tournament, the five region finalist teams which consist of 20 players gathered from the Americas, Europe, China, Japan, and Korea will be participating in both individual and team matches. The winning team of the team tournament will win cash prize of $10,000 while all participants will also get various prizes such as high-end laptop, graphic cards, and many more.
Additionally, there will be various exciting events with prizes in between the tournament matches for the audiences. The tournament matches and events will be live streamed through WEBZEN’s Global Service Portal (www.webzen.com).

Celebrating Third year Anniversary of Archlord

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, will be celebrating 3rd year anniversary of Archlord.
Webzen has serviced Archlord worldwide since October 2009, and it has been receiving increasing recognition from a vast number of MMORPG users for its various PvP contents and the recent introduction of the new expansion 'The Dark Revelation'.
Starting from October 17th (GST), Webzen will give out limited royal cloak which is specially designed for the 3rd year anniversary to show appreciation of dedicated Archlord players’ continuous support. Also, various events including increased experience and drop rates and massive cash item giveaway are scheduled.
Additionally, “Archlord Spooky Pumpkin Night” Halloween event will be running until November 22nd (GST). Players will be able to create Pumpkin Heads by hunting pumpkin-marked monsters for special buffs and benefits. And only during the event period, limited Dark Pumpkin head costume will be available for players to receive two different titles for additional bonus effects.
Meanwhile, Archlord’s major expansion ‘The Black Revelation’ has been updated last month which the ‘Shrine’ battle system is receiving extended interest and positive feedback from the players. C9 US Champion going to G-Star 2012 in Korea

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, successfully hosted GNGWC C9 the Americas region championship held by Kocca in Los Angeles.
On November 13th, Team ‘Ares’ has earned the ticket to Korea to compete in the GNGWC 2012 C9 World Championship, representing the Americas region. During the finals, Webzen held individual competition along with various events to audiences. The intense tournament finals and individual matches can be viewed at www.livestream.com/c9livestream.
US champion team ‘Ares’, Europe champion team ‘Random’, along with Korea, Japan, and China champions will be invited to ‘G-Star’ held in Busan, Korea where the finals will take place to compete for the grand prize and the C9 World Champions title.
Meanwhile, WEBZEN has implemented the new content ‘Mentoring’ system on November 11th to help new players to easily adapt to the game by encouraging and providing benefits for skilled high-level players to mentor new players.
