WEBZEN Announces the Reveal of the Archlord 2 Ranking Page

August 28th, 2014 (Seoul, Korea) - WEBZEN, a global leader in next-generation free-to-play games, announces the reveal of the Archlord 2 ranking page for a brutal, blood-spattered MMORPG Archlord 2.
The Archlord 2 team is gearing up for the game’s first major content update with the implementation of the ranking page for the upcoming Archlord system, now available on the official website here:

With the introduction of the titular Archlord system, players will compete each day to get the best scores in battlegrounds in order to gather enough points to be able to access the finals, a last man standing confrontation taking place every Sunday. The sole survivor of this brutal melee will then be crowned the Archlord.
Players who manage to accomplish this extraordinary feat will unlock access to exclusive skills and items worthy of the supreme ruler of Chantra. The ranking page has been made available on the 26th of August, while the Archlord system itself will be activated with the coming update.
The first major content update for the game will offer an increased level cap for characters, going from level 41 to level 46. In conjunction with this increase, players will be able to explore new quests and world areas, a new contested area, multiple new instanced dungeons and a whole new tier of loot.
The expansion is currently slated for mid-September.

Public Test Server for Rappelz Epic IX Part 1 goes live today

August 12th, 2014 (Seoul, South Korea) - WEBZEN, a global developer and publisher of online games, announces the opening of the Public Test Server (PTS) in anticipation of the new Rappelz expansion, Epic IX Part 1.
Players can look forward to testing the new features, with level and profession increase, new dungeon and additional improvements.
Starting today, players with a WEBZEN account will have the opportunity to create a new character on this special server and discover the exclusive content between the 12th and the 19th of August, before the launch of the new Epic. During the tests, the players will get a chance to help the Rappelz team to spot on possible problems with the game client and improve the final version of the expansion. In order to facilitate the levelling, the EXP, DROP and LAK rate will be increased for the characters.

The adventurers will unravel the mysteries of the new Red Spider Circus dungeon in the Pitch-Black Woods and its three nefarious bosses Lillis, Mephisto and the Soul of Lunacy. New equipment, accessories, boss cards and Soul Creatures are to be won if players can defeat these powerful enemies.
The new Epic will contain increased characters’ level and profession, many improvements with job balancing, interface enhancement, and new rewards to a daily quests, including exclusive costumes.
In order to consolidate the European communities and allow players to enjoy the fullest the new features, Italian, Polish and Turkish communities will be unified into a new European server on the 19th of August, although they will still be able to play in their own language.

WEBZEN Kicks Off Open Beta for MU Rebirth

August 5th, 2014, (Seoul, Korea) - WEBZEN, a global developer and publisher of online games, announces that its official free server, MU Rebirth will enter Open Beta today.
The Open Beta of MU Rebirth will be released in English starting August 5th 2014 and will be accessible to any player with an active WEBZEN account. Players without a WEBZEN account can create one for free at: http://www.webzen.com
MU Rebirth takes after the popular MU Online features, with faster levelling and heavier PVP action.
The Rebirth feature grants players the possibility to strengthen their characters after reaching level 400. This allows players to start their characters at level 1 again to accumulate more points, while all their stats remain the same.
PVP is the prominent aspect of the game, where top-ranking players will be fighting in seasonal competitions. Each season will hold a different theme, and the winner can acquire a most valuable prize on their MU Online account. Smaller tournaments will be organised as well for the players by volunteers at the start of the season.
To celebrate the Open Beta of MU Rebirth, a Rebirth event will take place between August 5th and August 18th 2014. Players can Grand Rebirth 3 times or more during the event to win amazing prizes in-game. C9 launched a New Advanced Class – ERTA

July 9th, 2014, (Seoul, Korea) - WEBZEN, a global leader in next-generation free-to-play games released a brand new class, ERTA, for the dungeon-based MORPG, CONTINENT OF THE NINTH SEAL (C9).
A new advanced class for the Mystic, the ERTA is now available for C9 actionists. The ERTA is an aerial juggler who excels at dealing damage with quick, powerful melee attacks. She’s also very mobile, able to deceive her enemies with lightning-fast dashes.
The ERTA mainly utilizes Stance Change and Teleport skills. She can execute powerful combos by switching between ranged and melee skills with Stance Change. Also, she can use Teleport and Link to move instantly for a trick attack on the enemy. Her primary weapon is the Chakram, a throwing weapon which is circular in shape, with a sharpened outer edge to slice through enemies.

To celebrate the launch of the ERTA, C9 team launched the video contest, “C9 PVP Combo Movie Festival” which will run until the 22nd of July (UTC). C9 players will be able to submit their Youtube videos showing off their PVP combos to win cool prizes, including Songkran Gear, Jaffard Gear, Medical Gear, and many others.
Additionally, from now until July 29th, 2014 (UTC), if your character with the ERTA reaches level 65 or above, you will be able to receive a special reward “Auspice” only for the ERTA.

Archlord 2 Charges into Open Beta

July 8th, 2014, (Seoul, Korea) - WEBZEN, a global developer and publisher of online games, announces that the long-awaited Archlord 2 will enter Open Beta today.

Starting on Tuesday, July 8th, 2014, any player with an active WEBZEN account will be able to access Archlord 2 without a Beta key. Players without a WEBZEN account can create one for free at: http://www.webzen.com
After installing the game (available for free download on the official website at http://archlord2.webzen.com/Download), players will be prompted to log in using their WEBZEN account. For the Open Beta, the game launcher has been updated with a language selection option that allows players to set their game’s preferred language before they start.
The Open Beta will offer a choice of 4 servers, based on different regions and languages. Players can select between two different factions, with one race each. For the Open Beta, character progression will be capped at Level 41, and a good amount of new and updated content will be made accessible, including massive battleground events every evening, each day with different maps and objectives.
