MU ONLINE Reveals Season 8 Part 3 Update

February 20, 2014 (Dublin, Ireland) – WEBZEN, a global leader in next-generation free-to-play games, revealed Season 8 Part 3 for the full 3D MMORPG, MU ONLINE.
WEBZEN will unleash the MUNE system, the main feature of the Season 8 Part3 Update, on February 19, 2014 (Global Server Time). The MUNE system will allow players to acquire a new pet and have it level-up together with your own character. Unlike the existing pets, MUNE pets are equipped in a special MUNE-only equipment slot.
Since each MUNE has a certain skill, life, grade and level, players can enhance a MUNE’s ability to increase their character’s power through its level-up and evolution.
To celebrate the release of the Season 8 Part 3 update, WEBZEN will begin the following in-game events:
What: Eggs of Monster
When: Feb 19 2014 ~ Mar 5 2014
Details: Gamers will be hunting event monsters to acquire eggs which contain special items. The three types of event monsters, such as Moon Rabbit, Punch of Blessing and Fire Flame Ghost, will appear periodically in certain hunting grounds. When you throw the egg from the event stash to the ground, the egg will be cracked open. Finally, you will receive a MUNE or one of the reward items.
What: Evolving MUNE
When: Feb 19 2014 ~ Mar 5 2014
Details: Once your MUNE reaches the max level, you can evolve the MUNE and get special rewards. Special rewards will be randomly given to players who evolve their MUNE. Especially, 10 winners who evolve a premium MUNE will receive Blessing of Light that gives a player an additional 200% EXP applied for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, WEBZEN has just launched an item giveaway for both returning players who haven’t logged in to MU Online since January 29, 2014 (Global Server Time) and new players who create a new account. From now through March 5, 2014 (Global Server Time), users can visit any of MU Online’s media partners to obtain a special item key. Players can redeem this code for free in-game rewards worth 130USD, including Gold Channel Ticket (15 Days), Seal of Wealth (15 Days), Seal of Healing (15 Days), Excellent Scroll Package (15 Days), AG Boost Aura (15 Days), SD Boost Aura (15 Days), Rage Fighter Card [1], Summoner Card [1] and more rewards.

WEBZEN established its subsidiary, WEBZEN&PLAY in Korea

February 10, 2014 (Seoul, Korea) – WEBZEN Inc., a global leader in next-generation free-to-play games, established its subsidiary, WEBZEN&PLAY Inc. to enhance development capability and strengthen expertise.
WEBZEN consolidated its game studios and affiliates as a single developer except for WEBZEN Mobile Inc..WEBZEN completed the legal steps necessary for the establishment of WEBZEN&PLAY on February 4, 2014, and now holds 100 percent of the company shares.
In Gyu Lee was elected WEBZEN&PLAY's CEO, and he has been responsible for the game development at NHN Inc. and WEBZEN for 10 years.
Along with the establishment, WEBZEN is expected to increase the efficiency of operating game development organization and the costs, and to enhance individual creativity and expertise through the specialized personnel management for game developer.
As Innovation and fun are core values of corporate management, WEBZEN&Play will improve treatment for the talented developers to create the good content as a professional game developer.

CONTINENT OF THE NINTH SEAL Reveals The 4th Expansion Part 3

January 15, 2014 (San Jose, Calif.) – WEBZEN, a global leader in next-generation free-to-play games, continues the fourth expansion for the dungeon-based MMORPG, CONTINENT OF THE NINTH SEAL (C9), by releasing the Guardian’s Tower 40th floor and new monsters.
Starting January 15, 2014 (Global Server Time), the Guardian’s Tower will increase 20 levels up to the 40th floor. Players will have a chance to battle new monsters who have invaded the newly-updated floors within the Guardian’s Tower in Raebin, the Sixth Continent of Glenheim.
Among the new monsters appearing along the Guardian’s Tower’s 20th to 40th floors will be the boss monsters originating from the First to Fifth Continents, such as Ixion from the Fourth Continent, Orc Kayl from the Third Continent, and more. Along with the new floors, new quests for each floor will be added.
The evil Nefer and his army have invaded the Guardian’s Tower in Raebin to find Tertis’ Heart, a special power protected by the water dragon, Artesia. To save Glenheim from destruction, C9 players must battle their way through each level of the tower, while fighting off attacks from Nefer’s powerful forces.
Last month, C9 unleashed a new character, the MYSTIC – wielding a deadly hammer and powerful magical attacks. The MYSTIC also features a Gust Wind attack, which allows her to swing her hammer violently at her opponents, while remaining completely still. Most of the character’s offensive attacks are airborne, which allows players to focus on skill combination, instead of worrying about which enemies to target.

CONTINENT OF THE NINTH SEAL Reveals Magical New Class – The MYSTIC

December 19, 2013 (San Jose, Calif.) – WEBZEN, a global leader in next-generation free-to-play games, unleashes the MYSTIC, a brand new basic class for the dungeon-based MMORPG, CONTINENT OF THE NINTH SEAL (C9). Wielding a deadly hammer and powerful magical attacks, this new character is now available to all players as part of the game’s FOURTH EXPANSION, which began last month. The last part of C9’s massive content update will feature an advanced form of the MYSTIC and is scheduled to be released next month.
Tasked by the divine goddess Akene to be the keeper of all magic, the MYSTIC is a melee fighter that can perform powerful omnidirectional attacks. She possesses a wide array of AoE skills that are unavailable to other classes, which also allows her to advance to an Elite class quicker than other characters. Her primary weapon is a massive hammer, which she smashes vehemently into the ground to cause paralyzing tremors in the earth. These shockwaves can wipe out even the most powerful of enemies. The MYSTIC also features a Gust Wind attack, which allows her to swing her hammer violently at her opponents, while remaining completely still. ABOUT THE MYSTIC
War erupted twice between the two opposing gods, the divine Akene and evil Rahkdan. After winning the first Genesis War, Akene asked Lugirae, the god of water, to create a river of life that flowed through the Heavens, Netherworld, and Glenheim. It slowly regenerated the three worlds, restoring what was destroyed. Akene was pleased with Lugirae's work and used a portion of her essence to create a new race of beings. She created a home for them, a lush island paradise called Helix, far from any other land. The goddess then assigned her new children to be keepers of all magic. This was the beginning of the MYSTICS, a mysterious group of heroines who live in seclusion, following the ebb and flow of divine magic.

Valhalla and Yggdrasil Join Forces During MU ONLINE Server Consolidation

December 17, 2013 – WEBZEN, a global leader in next-generation free-to-play games, announces a server consolidation for the full 3D MMORPG, MU ONLINE. To create a more exciting and balanced environment for all players to enjoy, the VALHALLA and YGGDRASIL servers will merge to create one unified server. The game’s other two servers, HELHEIM and MIDGARD, will remain the same. This consolidation will take place on January 15, 2014* during Regular Scheduled Maintenance, Global Server Time (*Schedule is subject to change. Exact times will be announced soon).
For the first time ever, VALHALLA and YGGDRASIL will join forces in the legendary continent of MU. In January, both servers will merge into one server for MU ONLINE. Characters that have accessed the game from the merging servers after August 1, 2013 will be transferred automatically. All data for these players (including character, item and quest information) will be maintained. For those who have not logged in after August 1, 2013, only the data from the server which contains the highest level character will be transferred and all other information will no longer be available.
After the server consolidation for MU ONLINE takes place, all information from players’ Gens, Guilds, Friend Lists, Letter Boxes and Windows Lists will be cleared. Users are encouraged to keep record of these details before VALHALLA and YGGDRASIL are merged. If two characters from either server share the same name, both names will be changed automatically. After server consolidation is complete, character names can be altered on the Character Selection screen. In addition, all Event Map information (Devil’s Square, Blood Castle, Chaos Castle, Temple of the Welcoming, etc.) for the combined servers will be reset.
The last Arka War for VALHALLA and YGGDRASIL before sever consolidation is scheduled for December 21, 2013 (GST). The last Castle Siege will take place on December 22, 2013 (GST). These events will be temporarily unavailable after these dates and will resume in January. All activity for both Arka War and Castle Siege will be reset at that time. (Exact dates and times will be announced soon).
