Arctic Combat Europe Qualification Finals Live from ESL

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, announced the final top two teams who will face off in the Europe Qualification Tournament Finals.
This September 15th (GST), Arctic Combat will hold the Europe Qualification Tournament Finals to determine who will advance to the ‘Veterans League – World Championship’. The two teams ‘Venezuel’ and ‘eaazy’ have reached the finals during the preliminaries held during the last closed beta hosted by ESL EU.
The finals will be hosted by ESL where viewers around the world can watch live. To commemorate the finals, the servers will be open for one day. Participants of the closed beta will be able to access and play Arctic Combat from 01:00 on the 15th (GST) for 24 hours.
Jihun Lee, Head of Global Publishing, said, “We are focusing on content development and localization to provide an enjoyable ‘free-to-play’ FPS game.” Also he said, “Through various tournaments, we hope to build a competitive environment for the e-sports community.”

C9 is now Powered by Steam

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, offers Unrivaled Action RPG ‘C9’ (Continent of the Ninth Seal) on ‘Steam’.
On September 12th (GST), C9 will be available on Steam, which is an online game distribution platform developed by Valve with more than 40 million players worldwide. Steam is currently servicing more than 2,000 PC Game titles.
C9 is currently available to more than 190 countries globally on ‘WEBZEN.com’, and the partnership with Steam is expected to give WEBZEN a stronger presence in the Global market especially in Europe and North America regions. Existing Steam players can link their Steam account with WEBZEN.com account and experience C9. Steam Starter’s Package will be available for Steam players to easily adapt to the game.
Meanwhile, WEBZEN will be unveiling C9’s first major expansion ‘The Ruined Empire’ which unseals the 4th new continent ‘Okapia’, the new class ‘Reaperess, The Goddess of Death’, along with the max level cap release from 50 to 57. The expansion will be updated together with the Steam launch.

C9 Europe Finalists Win $10,000 and a Ticket to G-Star 2012

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, announced the winners of the ‘C9 (Continent of the Ninth Seal) Europe Championship’ tournament at Gamescom 2012 held in Cologne, Germany.
Last August 18th, the final top two qualifying teams with players from across Europe collided at the GNGWC 2012 C9 Europe tournament to decide who takes home the $10,000 grand prize and a ticket to the ‘C9 World Championship’ held at G-Star 2012 in South Korea to represent Europe.
With the many fans and visitors of Gamescom awaiting the finals, the two teams faced off to win $10,000. The winners were not determined until the very last match where the final round concluded in a comeback adding to the excitement. The Europe finalist team member, ‘Intro’, said, “We are thrilled and cannot believe we have won this tournament. We are looking forward to the world championship to represent Europe and compete against the best of the best.”
With the Europe finalists decided, The Americas players wait their chance to participate in the ‘The Americas Championship’ this coming October. Here, the finalist team will be determined to see who will be invited to South Korea this November to battle for the world champion title.
Additionally during Gamescom 2012, WEBZEN revealed their upcoming free-to-play online tactical shooter, ‘ARCTIC COMBAT’, and gave new information about the upcoming fourth continent update for C9 at their business booth. Many of the visiting game media and press showed their interest and anticipation towards both titles.

Arctic Combat Joins the e-Sports World with ESL Europe

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, announced their first ESL Europe online tournament during the upcoming closed beta for the modern military FPS game ‘ARCTIC COMBAT’.
This August 16th (GMT), the registration for the Arctic Combat ESL (Electronic Sports League) Europe tournament will start allowing players around Europe to participate in this event. This will be the first step to build a competitive community in the e-sports world. Players will be able to apply for the tournament through the official Arctic Combat website (ac.webzen.com).
The preliminaries for the event are scheduled to start on August 26th (GMT), which will determine the top two teams that will meet at the finals. The finals will take place on the September 15th (GMT) to decide who the first champions of Europe will be. Viewers around the world will be able to enjoy this event through livestream hosted by the famous e-sports caster Joe Miller.
For the upcoming closed beta starting from August 22nd (GMT), the North America server will open along with the newly located server in Europe allowing players in this region to play under smooth conditions. New contents that are added will be revealed through the upcoming game trailer.

WEBZEN to Participate Gamescom 2012 with Arctic Combat and C9

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, will be participating in Gamescom 2012 in Germany with an exclusive B2B booth revealing new information for their game titles along with various B2C events.
From this August 15th, Webzen will be holding a B2B booth during Gamescom 2012 in Germany. ‘WEBZEN.com’ will be promoting the upcoming Modern military FPS game, Arctic Combat, and Action RPG C9 (Continent of the Ninth Seal).
The highly anticipated Arctic Combat is a Free to Play Online Tactical Shooter with realistic warzone effects and strategic gameplay involving tactical perks, weapons, and equipment. Here, Arctic Combat will reveal its new trailer showing new contents for the upcoming closed beta. Future service plans and schedules, including e-sports tournaments, will also be announced.
For the recently launched C9, the fourth continent will be revealed, where new contents will be added including a level cap raise. These upcoming updates are planned to be continued, providing players with more contents to enjoy. More details on these contents and update schedules are expected to be shown during the B2B section.
Meanwhile, separate from the B2B booth, WEBZEN’s B2C events on the 18th, will allow visitors to experience C9 and win various prizes. As a main event, the ‘C9 Europe Championship’ tournament, held as an official e-sports title for GNGWC, will decide the winners that take home $10,000. The top team will be invited to compete at ‘C9 World Championship’ held during November at G-Star 2012 in South Korea.
