Webzen Launches Epic 4-Player Co-Op Mode for Arctic Combat

April 9, 2013 – WEBZEN Inc., a global leader in next-generation free-to-play games, announces an epic new update for the first-person shooter, ARCTIC COMBAT. Beginning Thursday, April 18, 2013, players will be able to participate in a thrilling new 4-player co-op mode.
This exciting new mode marks the first major content update for ARCTIC COMBAT since its official launch in December 2012. The 4-player co-op mode will feature various levels of difficulty, all resulting in an assortment of rewards. The new feature will allow gamers from all different backgrounds, including more casual FPS-type players, to enjoy the game. The new update for ARCTIC COMBAT will also feature new weapons and maps, plus a challenging, upgraded Artificial Intelligence (AI) system.

Set amidst the chaos of World War III, ARCTIC COMBAT is a multiplayer online first-person shooter (MOFPS) featuring realistic gameplay experience and a tactical skill development system. The game revolves around the story of a national conflict between two groups; the Allied Forces (AF), led by the United States, and the Red Star Alliance (RSA), led by Russia. What begins as a dispute over natural resources in the arctic territory leads to a violent clash between the AF and RSA, dividing the world into two opposing forces and signaling the beginning of World War III.

WEBZEN Expands CONTINENT OF THE NINTH SEAL on Amazon.com

April 2, 2013 – WEBZEN Inc., a global leader in next-generation free-to-play games, expands the adrenaline-pumping free-to-play 3D Action MMORPG CONTINENT OF THE NINTH SEAL (C9), in a partnership with the world’s largest online retailer, Amazon.com.
Gamers will now be able to access CONTINENT OF THE NINTH SEAL through Amazon.com. All services will be hosted and maintained directly by Webzen.com. North American players can use their Amazon accounts to download the game client, purchase W Coins, and play the game on Amazon.com through the C9 product page.
CONTINENT OF THE NINTH SEAL takes players to the fantasy world of Glenheim, in which they fight against evil forces and gigantic monsters. Utilizing extremely powerful melee, ranged and magical skills, players will fight swarms of evil, demonic forces using FPS style controls in a huge, dungeon-based 3D world.
Players can create their characters from a choice of four classes, including Fighters, ranged-combat focused Hunters, magic-based Shamans, and Witchblades who combine bladed weapons with magical attacks. Each class has a choice of higher ranked positions which players can evolve into, such as Guardians, Assassins, Illusionists, or Slayers.
The game is aimed at fans of action RPGs as well as combat and beat’em up games, and offers an extensive combo system, which will spice up combat both in PvE as well as in the multiple styles of PvP conflict. MMO fans can look forward to Relay Matches for up to 16 players, Deathmatches, Team, and Individually Ranked matches, as well as many PK opportunities.
The world of Glenheim consists of dungeons and instances, allowing chaotic invasions at higher levels. There’s also a special “Hell Mode” instance for the bravest of heroes, granting extremely rare items as precious rewards.
New players who download the game through Amazon.com will be able to participate in various events to receive free bonuses, gears and additional items that will be released this week.

Continent of the Ninth Seal Reveals the New Advanced Class ‘Gunslinger’

Continent of the Ninth Seal, the adrenaline pumping free-to-play 3D Action MORPG by Webzen, Inc., reveal its 16th new Advanced Class named ‘Gunslinger’ on the Webzen.com, gPotato.eu and gPotato.com gaming portals.
C9’s the most anticipated Class Gunslinger is the Hunter’s 5th Advanced Class that specialized in long and close-range attacks with dynamic skill effects which take down and knock back targets with dual pistols and a shotgun.
Along with the Gunslinger updates, the 5th Continent Survival Mode will be released which is known to be the most challenging feature in C9 with its highly-leveled boss monsters. Also to provide a better localized and yet user-friendly service, German, French, Polish, Turkish, Spanish and Portuguese has been supported in the multi-lingual game client since February 27, 2013.

MU Online to release Season 8 Update

March 5th, 2013 – WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, announced Season 8 Update for the Full 3D MMORPG, MU Online. The new update will be released with exciting new contents such as the new map, ‘Debenter’ as well as the level cap increase from Level 702 to 730.
Debenter: Darkness Valley is the newly added territory where monsters are summoned by the God of Darkness, ‘Kundun’ in Archeron. Players will experience even darker and creepier in-game atmosphere compared to other areas and battle against many types of new monsters that have never been discovered before.
Along with this latest update, ‘Jewel of Pandora’ new mining system through a new item called ‘Pandora Pick’ will be added. Players can use it to obtain up to 1,000 ‘Jewel of Bless’ in a mining area and enjoy the new 10 pentagrams for characters over level 300. Also, new party/guild matching system and SNS system via ‘Facebook’ on mobile phones will be available for the convenience of the players
Additionally, Monthly PVP tournament, ‘Chaos Castle Survival of the Fittest,’ will be held on all servers. Each winning player will enter Mu Online’s Hall of Fame, and also receive ‘Wings of the Conqueror’ as the prize.

Arctic Combat Battlegrounds Expand to South America

February 13, 2013 - WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, announced the open of the South America server for the multiplayer online tactical FPS game, ‘ARCTIC COMBAT’ also adding new contents with the update.
On February 13th, Arctic Combat servers have been added for South American players, providing better service and an enjoyable environment for the eager players in this region. The new recruits in South America join the game, timed with new gaming environmental upgrades such as multi-lingual support, including Spanish and Portuguese represented. South American players will be able to pre-download the game client at the AC website before the server opens.
Along with the open of the South American server, the latest content update will include a new weapon and new map for Arctic Combat Veterans. The TAR-21, an assault rifle built specifically for urban combat, has been added to the game’s arsenal of weapons. The new “High Way” map offers another venue for action-packed Team Deathmatch competition for loyal Arctic Combat soldiers. Alongside these additions, the skill-based gameplay has been further refined, with a weapons and game balance adjustments, update to the kill streak system, as well as an improved in-game sound system.
Meanwhile for this week’s Valentine’s Day, special Valentine editions weapons will be available for purchase, leaving enemies to learn that pink rifles and heart-decorated grenades are just as deadly. Further details on these items and other Valentine’s Day events will be available on the Arctic Combat website.
