The ‘2012 C9 Championship Tournament’ is One Step Closer to $10,000

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, announced the finale of the Tournament Registration Test for their Action RPG ‘C9 (Continent of the Ninth Seal)’ and has begun preparation for the first Global PVP Tournament.
Last May 6th, the C9 Tournament Registration Test had come to an end after a month of non-stop action. To continue action, registration for the online tournament has started and will continue until May 9th (PDT).
The online tournament that starts on May 16th (PDT) will determine the final top 2 qualifying teams that will head on to Los Angeles, U.S.A. where the first official offline tournament finals will be held. Only one team will be victorious and win a grand prize of $10,000 (USD).
Currently among the registrations, there are many teams with diverse backgrounds. Some have experience in other competitive tournaments, while others are e-sports teams from ESL, or guilds from other well-known MMORPGs, masters of action games, and more. However, all have one thing in common; the goal to win the final grand prize.

Meanwhile, C9 will have its Final CBT during the online tournament and reveal the new class, Berserker. The Berserker is an advanced class from the elite fighter and has the most powerful attacks using its two handed sword.

The Race to Win $10,000 has begun for the ‘2012 C9 Championship Tournament’

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, announced the start of the ‘2012 C9 Championship Tournament’ registration for their Action RPG ‘C9’ (Continent of the Ninth Seal).
Today, WEBZEN opened the ‘2012 C9 Championship Tournament’ registration page (event.webzen.com/C9/Tournament/Application) and began accepting applications for the tournament that has a grand prize of $10,000 (USD).
To qualify for registrations, users must complete 3 in-game party quests before May 5th (PDT: Pacific Daylight Time) when the ‘Tournament Registration Test’ ends and apply for participation until May 9th (PDT). The ‘2012 C9 Championship Tournament’ will start on May 16th (PDT) and finish the online semi-finals by May 31st (PDT). The top final qualifying teams will be invited to the offline grand finals held during E3 2012 in Los Angeles, U.S.A.
Currently, over 100,000 users have participated in the ongoing ‘Tournament Registration Test’. In this test, new contents were revealed including ‘Ultimate Fury Skill’ and ‘Deathmatch / Relay Match’ (PVP modes) that were not available in previous tests.
Jihun Lee, Head of Global Publishing, said, ‘Users have shown much interest towards C9 even before the official launch.” Also he said, “We will give our full effort to successfully complete the tournament and focus on the localization for global users to launch the official service this summer.”

‘C9’ Marks the Start of the ‘2012 C9 Championship Tournament’

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, announced the start of the ‘Tournament Registration Test’ for their Action RPG ‘C9 (Continent of the Ninth Seal). During the test, participants will be able to register for the ‘online PvP tournament’ prior to the ‘2012 C9 Championship Tournament’.
Starting from April 14th until May 4th, the ‘Tournament Registration Test’ will be open to users with a C9 beta key that will be given out through various partner game media websites beginning from the 12th.
During the test period, participants who wish to register for the ‘online PvP tournament’ must first accomplish an in-game mission. The registration for the ‘online PvP tournament’ will open on April 25th at C9’s official website where more detailed information will be announced. Later on, after the ‘online PvP tournament’, the top final qualifying teams will be invited to the offline ‘2012 C9 Championship Tournament’ held during E3 2012 in Los Angeles, where the top team will win a grand prize of $10,000 (USD).
The ‘Tournament Registration Test’ will reveal new contents including the ‘Ultimate Fury Skills’, currently the most powerful and dynamic skills, and also new PvP systems, ‘Deathmatch’ and ‘Relay Match’.

New ‘ARCTIC COMBAT’ Synopsis Trailer Reveals WWIII Break Out

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, announced its new synopsis trailer on their teaser website for the modern military FPS game, ARCTIC COMBAT.
Today, WEBZEN revealed their newly updated ARCTIC COMBAT teaser site (ac.webzen.com) with the new synopsis trailer, ‘Unseen Danger’, along with the official ARCTIC COMBAT YouTube Channel (www.youtube.com/user/GlobalArcticCombat).
ARCTIC COMBAT’s new synopsis trailer reveals the initial dispute between US, NATO, and Russia after the announcement of the estimated amount of buried resources beneath the Arctic Ocean. The trailer shows actual military line-up scenes and Wikileak cases that express conflicts and conspiracies adding realism to the trailer.
Also, actual in-game play scenes featuring tactical strategies can be seen in the trailer including helicopter fire support and artillery bombardment. Other distinctive tactical assets are flamethrowers, UAVs, and rocket launchers, which can be used to reverse the battle situation. WEBZEN plans to reveal more cinematic trailers continuing the conflicts between the ‘AF’, led by the US, and the ‘RSA’, led by Russia, that causes the break out of World War III.
ARCTIC COMBAT uses an optimized game engine that allows low-end users to play while keeping high realistic effects, including corpse damage for gore mode, making users more immersed into the modern warfare battleground. The high-tech modern weaponry and real life like maps adds to the excitement. WEBZEN has scheduled the test for ARCTIC COMBAT in the first half of this year.

WEBZEN Inc. (WWW.WEBZEN.COM), the Next Generation of Free-to-Play Online Games, has announced their 3rd anniversary event, celebrating 3 years since the launch of its global game portal site ‘WEBZEN.com’.
Since 2009, ‘WEBZEN.com’ has successfully published 3 live titles during the past 3 years, and this year they plan to launch several new titles including the Action RPG ‘C9’ and MMOFPS ‘ARCTIC COMBAT’, providing more ‘free-to-play’ online game genres to worldwide users.
