Rappelz Epic 9.6: The Siege of the Citadel Is Live
-
WEBZEN today announced that the latest expansion for popular dark fantasy MMORPG Rappelz is now live on European & American servers.
At the end of the scheduled maintenance on Tuesday, 19 March, 2019 (UTC), Epic 9.6: The Siege of the Citadel was delivered to the Rappelz community, bringing the new Rondo Citadel Attack, class balance changes, and improvements to multiple aspects of the game such as pets, progression, dungeons and UI.
First of all, this new expansion brings an entire new location to Rappelz: a citadel built on the ruins of the Rondo Arena, just outside the city of Rondo, together with a new sieging system. The Citadel Attack is a competitive PvE speed-run mode. Guilds can bid in order to participate in 1 of the 6 sessions every Saturday (2 a.m., 6 a.m., 10 a.m., 2 p.m., 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.). For the highest-bidding guilds, the mages of the Luciad Society will break the barrier of the citadel and the guilds can enter.
At the end of every week, guild members receive a medal depending on their rank in the Attack. Medals are a new kind of equipment with their own slots. Rewards are given once all of the Citadel Attacks are over for the week, on Saturday night. A medal is given to all guild members, even those who did not participate. Furthermore, the Guild Master of the guild that finishes 1st also receives the Cloak of the Rondo Commander.
Epic 9.6: The Siege of the Citadel also includes balance changes, with the rework of many important classes such as the Slayer, Void Mage and Templar, which were highly requested by the Rappelz community.
In addition, this expansion marks the return of the Classic Pets with the first pet of the Epic type: the Death Gladiator. This pet is very powerful but equally hard to tame, as it requires the rare Epic Pet Cards. The Death Gladiator is a powerful melee pet with high Evasion, and the Epic Pet Cards required to tame it will drop from the Gladiator itself.
With the arrival of this expansion, the Rappelz team is running a +25% EXP event, plus the It's the Pet Season! event until 1 April, 2019.
